Current Enrolment Procedures

If you are interested in enrolling your child throughout the school year please contact the office. We are able to arrange walkthroughs by appointment.

enrolments for kindergarten

Kindergarten enrolments open in Term 2 each year.  Application forms are to be submitted to the front office with corresponding documentation by the end of Term 2. Enrolment interviews for Kindergarten are held in Term 3. Parents/carers meet with a member of the Leadership Team where an interview is conducted with your child present. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to get to know you and your child. It also assists us to appropriately support your child with the important information you are able to provide us with. We welcome any questions you may have and offer a tour of the school at the end of the meeting.  After discernment an offer will be made to parents.

admission to kindergarten

There will be one admission to Kindergarten each year at St Patrick's and this will occur in the first semester of the Academic Year.
6.2  By law students must commence school before they turn six years of age. Children can start Kindergarten at the beginning of the school year if they turn 5, on or before 31 July that year.

Please note that if your child does not turn 5 before March the year they are enrolling, the school will take measures to satisfactorily determine their readiness for school. This could include but is not limited to; a formal interview, a conversation with the preschool about their readiness for school, attending an ascertainment meeting, an observation of the child during our transition to school program in Term 4.
Additional certificates such as Immunisation are required at the time of enrolment. Baptismal Certificates are also required for all Catholic students.

After an offer is received, Kindergarten children are invited to attend a transition program during Term Four. The program includes four visits over a four week period. Your child will attend a morning, middle and afternoon session for the first three weeks and then attend for a full day in the last week. An outline of the program will be emailed with your child's invitation at a date to be advised. Whilst your child is attending the final transition day in Kindergarten, an information session will be provided for parents/carers in the school's Fr O'Dea Hall.

enrolments for years 1-6

Enrolments for Years 1 - 6 may be processed at any time. An interview will be conducted by a member of the Leadership Team with your child present. This interview will provide us with important information to best support your child as they transition to our school. We ask that you bring your child's most recent school report, NAPLAN results (where applicable) and any other documentation or reports that indicate the need for extra support or adjustments to the interview.  Please contact the front office to arrange a school tour. A member of the Leadership Team will show you many of the amazing features within our school and answer any questions you may have.
