JACKIE MURPHY NETBALL GALA DAY
On Friday, 7th of September our Year 6 girls participated in the Jackie Murphy Netball Gala Day, in Albury, at the JC King netball complex. The sun was shining and it was perfect conditions for a great day of Netball. The girls played 5 games with two 12 minute halves. The girls played their first game against the Lutheran School from Wagga. It was a great game with our girls winning the match 16-6. The next game was against St. Patrick’s Albury. It was their only loss for the day with the girls going down by 3 points, 18-15. This didn’t dampen the girls spirits however, trying even harder in the next game, beating Henschke Wagga 19-2 in a very impressive game. In the second last game of the day, the girls had another terrific game winning 19-3 over Holy Spirit Albury. For the last game of the day the girls stepped it up again, winning against St. Joseph’s Wagga in a high scoring game 29-7. A very special thank you to Annette Waide for coaching the girls in the lead up as well as on the day. Annette has always been very generous with her time, offering her extensive netball expertise and we appreciate her passing on her skills to our Year 6 students. Another thank you to the parents who drove the girls over and supported them on the day. I am sure your daughters appreciated it very much.
